AMCO undertook the supply and installation of sustainable mobility and smart city systems in the Municipality of Heraklion, Crete.

The project includes:

• Software platform for traffic management and informing drivers about traffic conditions.

• Smart parking system for fake parking spaces.

• Automated shared electric bike rental system.

Through the equipment and software that will be installed as part of the project, citizens will have the opportunity to:

• They are informed about the available temporary parking spaces and the special parking spaces (loading/unloading/handicapped) through electronic LED signs and mobile application.

• They receive information regarding traffic conditions on the Municipality’s road network.

• They rent a shared electric bike, through the infokiosks that will be installed at the rental stations.

The project comes to complement the “green” infrastructure of the Municipality of Heraklion and to upgrade its shopping center, making citizens’ access to it easier, faster, safer and more sustainable.
